Mr Indi Deol, owner of DESIblitz.com, said: “We are extremely happy to be supporting POP. We totally believe in the POP business model and we are fully united in the same mission to support the communities in which we work. There are approximately 3.5 million Asians (Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi) in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, around 5% of the UK population. Those of Indian origin comprise 2.2% of that population (about 1.52 million), making them the single largest visible ethnic minority population in the country. British Indians tend to be religiously diverse, with 56% Hindu, 30% Sikh and 13% Muslim; and to originate from two main states: Punjab and Gujarat. The UK has a population of about 213,000 Gujaratis (for Ahmedabad), who form the largest overseas Gujarati diaspora, being larger than the combined Gujarati communities of New York City and Toronto (which are second and third largest, respectively).

POP requires £5m to launch the airline’s first-year operation. This will be raised by a currently ongoing rewards-based crowdfunding campaign which has its own dedicated platform built into the POP website. Here supporters can purchase and find details of what is included in a £500 Gold Pass which lasts for five years.

Other POP Corporate Partners include VAP Associates, Gujarati Media Group, British Young Asian Entrepreneurs, New Delhi Television (NDTV), Metallic Ticket and Labels Corp, Brahma Kumaris, Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), The Sikh Channel TV, National Congress of Gujarati Organisations and charities Dreams Come True, SkillForce, Pratham and Railway Children – India.
