Infants

For online bookings, 1 infant can be included for each adult.

A newborn baby must be more than 48 hours old before the can fly. If the baby is 2 to 7 days old then please consult your doctor so that you can be sure it is safe for both you and your baby. You will need to provide a MEDIF form at check in.

If your infant is less than 2 years old on your outbound flight, and in the rare case that they have their birthday before your return flight you will not have to book them a seat. This only applies if both trips are included in a single booking that is no longer than 2 weeks. If your return flight is on a different booking then they will need to have their own seat.

Infants will sit on your lap throughout the flight, our cabin crew will provide you with a special seat belt for your infant and they will be able to provide assistance in securing this. For safety reasons each infant must be accompanied by an adult.

You can buy a separate seat for your infant, but they must be able to sit up unaided. If your infant can not sit upright without assistance, then you must bring an approved car seat. Car seats can only be fitted onto a window seat.

Please note: If you have paid for a separate seat for your infant and you don’t bring a child seat or AmSafe System, your infant must sit on your lap using an extension seatbelt during taxi, take-off, landing and turbulence (when the seatbelt sign is on). The cabin crew will provide the extension seat belt and show you how to use it.

Children

Children must travel in their own seat for safety reasons.

Seating

If you are travelling with an infant, you won’t be able to travel in an exit row seat (this includes extra legroom seats).

If you want to make sure that your family are all sitting together then you will need to book your seats in advance. If you do not then we will allocate your seats from the available free seats. Although we will ensure that each child under 12 is seated next to an adult in your booking it may result in your family being split between rows and aisles.

Any child over the age of 12 we consider an adult for seating purposes so they may be seated separately. This, however, does not entitle them to buy alcohol onboard!

Priority boarding will be available for a fee.

More information regarding seating can be found here.

Baggage

If you are flying with an infant who will be sitting on your lap you may only bring an additional baby changing bag, measuring 45 x 36 x 20 cm.

An infant in their own seat is allowed cabin baggage the same as any other passenger and a baby changing bag.

In addition, you may also check in one of the following items free of charge: booster seat, car seat, pushchair, buggy, collapsible pram or a baby back-carrier. If the push chair can be collapsed, placed in a bag, and is no larger than the normal Cabin baggage size restriction you may take it on board, if not we will put it in the hold.

If you wish you may put these items into your check-in baggage or should you need to use them to get to the boarding gate then we will collect them from you before you board and put them in the hold. If we put any items in the hold where airport procedures allow we will deplane them for you at the gate or you will be able to retrieve them at baggage reclaim.

Baby bassinets

If you require a baby basinet please do this at the time of booking. Select the SSR (Special Service Request) check box and pick the type of assistance you need. There is no charge for this seat but if you are travelling with others they will have to pay for the seat in the same row as bulkhead seats are extra leg room seats.

Our aircraft have four baby bassinets as part of the on-board equipment. The fixings have to be attached to a bulkhead and so there are limited places where they can be deployed

Baby bassinets are not a child restraint device and are not certified for taxi, take-off, landing and turbulent weather conditions. They may swing up and down and are not stable during turbulence, therefore the baby must be removed from the bassinet during turbulence and secured as instructed by the cabin crew.

Car seats and carrycots

If your infant or small child is unable to sit upright in an airplane seat then you will need a car seat or carrycot on board. Please refer to our car seat information page.

Children’s meals

We provide a choice of meals for children that will need to be booked in advance through the website to ensure that we have them available onboard.
