Cleanliness

Information regarding our cleaning standards and protocols.

Our aircraft cleaning teams are trained to meet our high cleanliness standards and to provide our customers and crew with a safe and comfortable onboard experience.

Our planes are cleaned after each and every flight using a high-grade registered disinfecting product that has been tested to be effective against viruses.

For all flights, cleaning teams are required to complete a rigorous checklist for cabin cleanliness including disinfecting cabin surfaces and customer contact areas such as seats, seatback pockets, door handles, tray tables, inflight entertainment screens and floors.

All common area surfaces, in galleys and lavatories are also disinfected using the same high-grade disinfectant.

When our cabin crew boards an aircraft they follow a series of procedures, including a visual check of the cabin, toilets and galleys to ensure a clean cabin environment.

Our aircraft cleaning team is on standby, ready to answer any questions or concerns the crew might have and to request additional cleaning or disinfection of the aircraft prior to departure.

On all aircraft our cabin crew are provided with pre-packaged cleaning supplies to maintain our required standards during the flight. These kits include gloves, disinfectant and cleaning wipes.

Air recirculation systems on all our Airbus aircraft have HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters which remove dust, allergens, bacteria, viruses and other irritating particles from the air. All the air in the cabin is completely changed, on average, every 3 minutes. The HEPA filters are very effective at removing viruses - testing shows a virus removal efficiency of 99.999%.

In addition to all of this, all our catering and cabin products undergo sanitation and disinfectant procedures after every flight, including all linen, tableware, dishes, cutlery, glassware, child bassinets and cots.
